Product Overview

The KR‑437 bench‑top flat‑plate rapid dryer is purpose‑designed laboratory drying hardware for pulp, paper‑sheet and various fibre‑based specimens. It adopts infrared radiation plus vertical flat‑conduction heating principle. The precisely‑polished heating platen works together with the weighted upper cover, applying even pressure across samples throughout drying cycles. This effectively prevents sheet warping, wrinkling and deformation, delivering flat, glossy finished specimens for subsequent physical‑property testing.

This instrument complies with GB/T 462 and ISO 287 standards for moisture‑content determination of paper, paperboard and pulp analytical samples. It supports continuous long‑duration heating operations and can simultaneously process multiple groups of standard hand‑sheet specimens, widely deployed in pulp‑and‑paper mills, fibre‑material R&D centres, university papermaking laboratories and third‑party fibre‑product testing institutions. The optional KR‑437A variant features arc‑shaped heating platen for alternative drying requirements.

Core Product Competitive Advantages

  1. Uniform Flat‑Conduction Heating System Thickened 21 mm high‑quality heating platen with full‑coverage heating elements ensures consistent temperature distribution across the whole working surface. Infrared radiation heating delivers stable thermal input, avoiding local over‑heating or uneven drying which may distort fibre sheet structures.
  2. Weighted Vertical Press‑Down Structure Upper cover assembly delivers constant 23 kg pressing force onto test specimens. Heat‑resistant breathable fibre cloth lines the inner contact surface. Combined pressure‑heating mode keeps paper sheets flat, minimises curl and crease defects, producing high‑quality specimens for accurate follow‑up lab measurements.
  3. Intelligent Digital Temperature & Timing Control Front‑mounted digital controller enables flexible temperature adjustment and drying‑time presetting. Temperature range spans ambient temperature up to 180 °C. Built‑in 250 °C over‑temperature safety interlock automatically cuts heating power in abnormal conditions for equipment protection.
  4. Large‑Capacity Multi‑Sample Batch Processing Spacious working platen measures 600 × 350 mm, accommodating maximum specimen dimensions up to 660 × 418 mm. It can dry as many as six sets of R200 standard hand‑sheet samples in one single batch to improve laboratory work efficiency. Acceptable specimen thickness ranges from 0‑15 mm.
  5. Robust Bench‑Top Construction & Simple Operation Compact table‑top layout occupies minimal lab bench area. Metal frame structure guarantees long‑term service‑life. Control panel adopts straightforward button‑operation logic; operators can complete specimen placement, parameter setup and drying workflows without complex training.

Standard Complete Test Operating Workflow

  1. Pre‑Heat Preparation Place the dryer on level laboratory workbench. Power‑on the unit, set target drying temperature and holding duration via digital control panel; allow the heating platen to complete pre‑heating cycle.
  2. Specimen Placement Open the weighted upper‑cover. Lay wet pulp hand‑sheet or fibre specimen flat onto the central area of heating platen, make sure there is no fold or overlapping on sample surface.
  3. Start Drying Process Gently close the weighted upper‑cover so even pressure acts upon the sample. Initiate drying cycle, the equipment will run according to pre‑set temperature and timing parameters.
  4. Complete Drying & Take‑Out Once timing cycle finishes or specimen achieves fully‑dry state, lift the upper‑cover. Carefully take out finished dry paper‑sheet specimen for subsequent physical‑performance analysis.
  5. Equipment Shutdown After finishing all sample batches, turn off heating function. Wait for platen surface to cool down to near‑ambient temperature. Cut main power supply, clean residual fibre debris from platen and fibre‑cloth cover.
