Product Overview
TheKR-116 precision dumbbell punching die is a standardized cutting mold strictly manufactured following ASTM D412 international rubber tensile testing specification, dedicated to stamping dogbone-shaped test strips from vulcanized rubber, TPE elastomers, flexible PVC and thin polymer sheets. High-precision integrated cutting edge ensures zero burr, dimensionally consistent specimens, eliminating dimensional deviation errors that distort tensile strength, elongation at break and modulus test data on universal material testers.
This punching mold undergoes complete CNC wire cutting, hardening heat treatment and mirror polishing processes. It is compatible with manual slicers, hydraulic sample presses and pneumatic stamping machines, widely adopted by rubber compound factories, silicone product labs, plastic film manufacturers and third-party material inspection institutions for daily standard sample preparation.

Core Product Advantages
- High Hardness Alloy Integrated Cutting Edge
Adopts chrome-manganese tool steel as raw material, treated with high-temperature quenching to reach HRC 60 hardness. Integrated one-piece forming avoids splicing gaps; ultra-sharp polished inner edge cuts clean smooth samples without tearing or serrated edges, ensuring fracture occurs in the standard gauge section during tensile testing rather than cutting defects.
- Micron-Level Dimensional Precision Control
All contour sizes are processed by precision wire electrical discharge machining, overall dimensional tolerance controlled within ±0.1~0.2mm. Every finished die passes three rounds of caliper inspection to fully match the official dimension drawings of ASTM D412 Die C standard, meeting export laboratory compliance testing requirements.
- Anti-Deformation Thick Wall Structural Design
The die body adopts thickened wall layout to prevent bending and distortion under long-term stamping impact. Even after thousands of continuous punching cycles, the internal profile remains unchanged, effectively extending service life and reducing frequent mold replacement costs for mass sample preparation workshops.
- Wide Material Compatibility & Multi-Standard Customization
The standard D412 dumbbell die fits rubber, silicone, soft plastic film, leather and coated paper. We also provide customized molds compliant with ISO 37, ASTM D638, JIS K6301 and other global test standards, including tear dies, rectangular strip cutters and miniature dumbbell molds for micro samples.
- Simple Matching & Easy Operation
Can be directly placed on the platform of all common sample cutting machines, no complicated fixture modification required. After stamping, specimens separate smoothly from the mold cavity without sticking residue; the smooth inner surface is easy to wipe and clean to avoid cross-contamination of different formula materials.

Standard Sample Stamping Operating Steps
- Flat Material Placement
Lay the vulcanized rubber/plastic sheet flat on the cutting machine platform, remove surface dust and particles to prevent indentations on specimens.
- Mold Position Alignment
Place the dumbbell die flat on the target cutting area with the sharp cutting edge facing down, align the die back with the stamping pressure head of the cutting equipment.
- One-Time Stamping Molding
Start the slicer/hydraulic press to apply uniform vertical pressure, complete one-shot cutting without repeated extrusion to avoid edge deformation.
- Specimen Separation & Inspection
Lift the mold and take out the dumbbell sample, check the edge for burrs or uneven cutting; discard defective specimens and re-stamp if dimensional errors exist.
- Mold Daily Maintenance
Wipe residual rubber/plastic debris from the inner cavity after use, store in a dry dust-proof box to prevent blade rust and passivation.
