The KR-726 environmental stress cracking resistance tester is dedicated constant-temperature testing equipment designed to evaluate anti-cracking performance of polyethylene resins, PE pipes, cable sheath materials and polyolefin composites under chemical medium and constant bending stress environment. It adopts the classic bent strip testing principle: standardized notched plastic samples are fixed under consistent tensile stress and immersed in heated surfactant solution, then technicians record the time when microcracks emerge on specimen surfaces to judge the material’s service durability under chemical corrosion and long-term stress.
This complete testing kit fully meets GB/T 1842, GB/T 2951.41 and ASTM D1693 international testing standards, covering three standard test conditions (A/B/C) for different density PE raw materials. Equipped full set of sample pre-processing fixtures and transparent observation bath, it is widely adopted by HDPE pipe manufacturers, wire & cable factories, modified plastic R&D labs and third-party polymer inspection centers for raw material incoming inspection and formula anti-cracking optimization screening.

Standard Complete Test Operation Flow

  1. Sample Cutting & Standard Notching
    Use matched cutting mold to stamp plastic sheet into standard 38×13mm strips; install adjustable notching blade to carve standardized scratches on specimen surface according to material density matching standard A/B/C depth parameters.
  2. Specimen Bending & Fixed Stress Loading
    Place notched sample into U-shaped bending fixture to form consistent tensile stress at the scratch position, transfer the fixed specimen into standard glass test tube via dedicated transfer tool.
  3. Bath Preheating & Medium Filling
    Pour qualified surfactant test liquid into glass tubes, place tubes onto stainless steel rack and immerse into constant temperature water tank; power on the machine and set target test temperature (commonly 50℃ per ASTM D1693), wait 30 minutes for full temperature stabilization.
  4. Timed Crack Observation Record
    Start test timing, regularly observe specimen surface through transparent tube wall at fixed intervals, record the exact time when microcracks appear on each sample surface, calculate F50 median failure time for batch evaluation.
  5. Post-Test Specimen Taking & Tank Cleaning
    Complete the preset test cycle, take out test tubes and remove all specimens, pour out waste surfactant liquid, wipe stainless bath inner wall and fixtures clean, drain residual water inside the tank.
  6. Equipment Shutdown & Storage
    Turn off heating and stirring power supply, fully dry the bath tank interior, store all fixture tools in matching storage box to avoid scratch blade rust and deformation.
