The KR-120B 10L closed Banbury mixer is a medium-volume laboratory internal kneading device designed for R&D formulation testing, small pilot compounding and pre-production material verification of rubber, thermoplastics, masterbatch and functional composite powders. Distinct from small 1L/3L bench mixers, this 10L unit supports 8–12kg single batch loading, bridging lab formula data and medium-scale trial production lines.
It adopts classic tangential four-wing rotor architecture paired with independent PID heating & circulating water dual temperature regulation. The fully sealed mixing chamber minimizes dust loss of carbon black, pigments and inorganic fillers, delivering consistent dispersion uniformity for every batch. Equipped with hydraulic top ram pressurization and motor-driven tilting discharge, the machine supports semi-automatic and fully automatic running modes, widely deployed in polymer R&D labs, color masterbatch factories, footwear material manufacturers, electronic cable compound workshops and new material pilot bases.

    Integral cast W-shaped mixing cavity with thickened wall structure greatly enhances anti-abrasion performance. All inner contact surfaces are surfacing welded and mirror hard chrome plated, extending service life 1–2 times over standard mixing tanks. The sealed cavity design prevents powder leakage of carbon black, ceramic powder and magnetic powder, lowering raw material waste and workshop pollution.

    4.Optimized Four-Wing Tangential Rotor Design

    Custom asymmetrical four-wing rotors with fixed 1:1.17 front-rear speed ratio create powerful shearing, folding and kneading force. Single mixing cycle only takes 5–7 minutes, 3x faster than conventional two-roll open mills. Rotor base material is 38CrMoALA alloy steel with integral nitriding treatment, surface hardness reaches HRC58–65 for long-term filler abrasion resistance.

    5.Dry Mechanical Shaft Seal & Easy Color Change

    Adopts dual-stage anti-leakage sealing structure with imported fiber resin sealing rings, effectively blocking fine powder overflow at rotor shaft ends. No frequent disassembly required when switching different color formulas; the tilting discharge design allows full cleaning of the mixing chamber within a short time, reducing cross-contamination risks between batches.

    6.Automated Hydraulic Pressurization & Tilting Discharge

    Vertical pneumatic hydraulic top ram applies stable constant pressure on materials during kneading to boost filler dispersion efficiency. 110°–135° motor-driven tilting unloading mechanism completely empties mixed stock without residual buildup. Operators can switch between manual, semi-auto and full-auto program modes according to production demands.

Standard Automated Mixing Operation Workflow

  1. Formula Parameter Setup
    Input target kneading temperature, total mixing duration and top ram pressurization holding time on the central control panel, save custom recipe for one-click recall in subsequent batches.
  2. Raw Material Feeding
    Lift the hydraulic feeding gate, sequentially add base rubber/plastic pellets, color masterbatch, carbon black and functional fillers into the sealed mixing chamber, then lower and lock the top ram.
  3. Constant Pressure Kneading CycleDual rotors start differential rotation under stable hydraulic pressure; integrated heating or water cooling runs synchronously to maintain preset material temperature for scheduled shearing and homogenization.

 

4.Automatic Discharge Trigger

Once the set mixing countdown finishes, the machine lifts the top ram automatically, the mixing chamber tilts to preset angle to fully unload compound stock into receiving containers.

 

5.Chamber Cleaning & Batch Switch

Reset the tilt cylinder back to horizontal position, wipe residual compound from rotors and cavity walls; replace sealing gaskets if switching high-pigment formulas to avoid color cross-over.

 

6.Shutdown Maintenance

Cool down the mixing chamber to below 60℃, cut off main power, check lubricant tank level and gearbox oil volume for the next production shift.
