The KR-123 full-open laboratory banbury mixer is a specialized closed kneading device developed for polymer formula screening and small batch trial compounding. Different from conventional tilting discharge internal mixers, it adopts hydraulic fully split cavity architecture. After each mixing run completes, the entire mixing chamber can be fully unfolded, exposing rotors and all inner surfaces without blind spots for thorough cleaning. This design fundamentally eliminates cross-contamination between different formulas, making it ideal for color matching tests, high-cost raw material research, and frequent material switching workstations.
Inside the sealed mixing cavity, twin rotors generate continuous shear, compression and folding forces to evenly distribute fillers, pigments and additives into polymer substrates. Standard Test Operating Steps

  1. Pre-Inspection & Cleaning: Check water cooling circuits and power supply, fully wipe rotors and cavity to eliminate leftover material from previous batches.
  2. Parameter Setup & Preheating: Input target temperature, mixing cycle and rotor speed via touchscreen, preheat the cavity to designated temperature value.
  3. Raw Material Feeding: Weigh compound components precisely and load into the feeding hopper, then lower the transparent dust shield and activate the pneumatic top ram.
  4. Automatic Mixing Cycle: Initiate the program and monitor material kneading status through the observation window in real time.
  5. Hydraulic Discharge & Unloading: When the preset mixing time elapses, the machine halts automatically; release ram pressure and trigger the hydraulic split mechanism to fully open the mixing chamber for material collection.
  6. Post-Run Sanitation: Thoroughly clean all internal metal surfaces, close the cavity and prepare for the next experimental batch.
