The repose angle acts as a core physical indicator to judge powder friction, cohesion and free-flow performance, guiding silo storage design, mixing process adjustment and raw material incoming screening.
Following ISO 4324 and mainstream industrial test protocols, the device adopts gravity free-fall cone forming method. Operators pour samples through standardized funnel onto horizontal measuring plate, then read cone geometry via precision protractor to calculate repose angle. Standard Complete Test Operating Steps

  1. Horizontal Calibration
    Adjust four base leveling feet and observe the built-in bubble level until centered, ensuring the measuring tray is perfectly horizontal before sample testing.
  2. Sample Preprocessing
    Dry and sieve powder samples to remove large agglomerates; keep specimens under standard lab temperature and humidity for 2 hours to eliminate moisture interference on flow performance.
  3. Funnel Loading & Controlled Blanking
    Close the sliding gate, fill the funnel with sufficient homogeneous sample, then slowly pull the baffle open to let powder freely fall and form a stable conical pile on the central measuring tray.
  4. Angle Measurement & Data Recording
    Wait until the cone shape stops changing completely, align the protractor with the cone slope surface to directly read the repose angle value. Conduct three parallel tests and take the average as final result.
  5. Flow Performance Classification
    Classify powder fluidity according to measured angle value:
  • ≤30°: Excellent free-flow property
  • 30° ~ 40°: Good handling performance
  • 40° ~ 45°: Moderate flowability
  • >45°: Poor cohesive sticky powder
  1. Post-Test Cleaning
