KR-1077 Touchscreen Ball Indentation Hardness Tester for Plastics (ISO 2039 Compliant)

Product Details:

Product Overview

The KR-1077 touchscreen ball indentation hardness tester is a dedicated mechanical testing instrument engineered for indentation hardness evaluation of rigid plastics, engineering polymers, building plastic profiles and hard rubber materials. Following the ball indentation test principle defined in ISO 2039-1 and GB/T 3398.1, the unit applies graded vertical loads via precision steel ball indenters, records permanent indentation depth, and automatically computes standardized hardness values through built-in microcontroller algorithms.
All test sequences are fully programmable on the color touch HMI, supporting unattended automatic testing, real-time data storage and printable test reports. This bench-top tester meets both international test method norms and domestic equipment calibration specifications, widely deployed in automotive component labs, plastic profile manufacturers, new material R&D centers and CNAS accredited third-party inspection institutions for raw material incoming screening and finished product mechanical performance verification.

Core Technical Strengths

  1. Full Touchscreen Intelligent Program Control System
7-inch industrial color touch interface integrates all test parameters including preload holding time, main load duration and multi-stage load switching. Operators store custom test recipes for one-click recall; the system automatically executes the complete load sequence as required by standards, and allows manual skip of individual steps to accommodate special sample testing demands. All hardness calculation formulas are solidified in the chip, with controllable decimal retention digits to eliminate manual arithmetic errors.
2.High-Stability Precision Load & Depth Measuring Module

Equipped high-sensitivity digital micrometer sensor with 0.001mm minimum resolution, paired with closed-loop force feedback structure. The tester supports 5 standard main loads (49N / 132N / 358N / 612N / 961N) plus fixed 9.8N preload, with overall force indication deviation controlled within ±4%. The integral thick cast frame restricts overall structural deformation under full load to ≤0.05mm, ensuring consistent indentation depth readings across parallel test groups.
    3.Dual-Size Interchangeable Alloy Steel Indenters

Supports Φ5mm and Φ10mm polished hard steel ball indenters for matching soft and rigid plastic substrates. The spherical indenter surface undergoes mirror polishing and anti-rust treatment to avoid scratch interference on sample surfaces, easy to disassemble and replace when switching test materials. The vertical moving stroke reserves 25mm clearance between indenter and base platform, compatible with samples up to 10mm maximum thickness.
    4.Complete Built-In Standard Compliance Logic

Pre-programmed test procedures aligned with ISO 2039-1, GB/T 3398.1, JB/T 741 and JJG 369 metrology verification standards. The system automatically judges valid indentation depth range (0.150~0.350mm) and prompts load adjustment if readings exceed the standard window, effectively avoiding invalid test data caused by improper force selection.
5.Compact Integrated Bench Layout With Wide Operation Space

The 55mm horizontal distance between indenter and machine side wall provides ample room for large-format plastic specimens. The whole machine adopts anti-corrosion electrostatic paint coating, small footprint suitable for limited lab countertops. All core transmission parts use wear-resistant lubricated structures to lower long-term maintenance frequency.
6.Complete Data Output & Traceability Function

All test records including indentation depth, load grade and hardness values are automatically saved with timestamps. The system supports offline data review and batch export, matching external printing equipment to generate standardized inspection reports for factory quality filing and third-party audit submission.

Standard Test Operation Procedure

  1. Sample Pre-Inspection & Placement
Prepare flat, bubble-free plastic specimens with thickness ≥4mm; ensure each measurement point maintains over 10mm spacing from sample edges and adjacent indent points. Lay the specimen flat on the horizontal base platform to eliminate tilting.
  2. Indenter & Parameter Setup
Install the matched steel ball indenter on the spindle, power on the touchscreen and select corresponding test recipe, set preload holding time and main load dwell duration per material standard requirements.
  3. Automatic Preload Positioning
Lower the indenter to contact the sample surface, the system applies fixed 9.8N preload automatically to establish the zero reference plane for indentation depth measurement.
  4. Standard Main Load Application
The machine automatically switches to the selected main load and maintains the specified holding period, continuously tracking indentation depth variation under constant force.
  5. Hardness Auto-Calculation & Data Storage
After load retraction, the host computes ball indentation hardness value instantly and stores the full test record. Repeat testing at least 3 positions on one specimen to take the average as final result.
  6. Post-Test Cleaning & Shutdown
Remove the tested sample, wipe residual plastic debris from indenter and base platform; cut off power after daily testing and cover the machine with dust-proof cloth.

Qualified Sample Requirements

  1. Sample surface must be smooth, free of scratches, bubbles, cracks or embedded impurities that affect indentation depth reading.
  2. Minimum sample thickness is 4mm; recommended standard specimen dimension: 50×50×4mm flat sheet.
  3. Each indentation center shall keep a minimum 10mm gap from sample edges and neighboring test points to prevent edge effect interference.
