The KR-712B automatic limiting oxygen index tester is a dedicated flammability detection device, used to quantify the minimum oxygen volume fraction required to sustain stable combustion of solid specimens under standardized gas mixing conditions. The LOI value obtained from testing acts as core grading basis for material flame retardancy: higher numerical value means stronger self-extinguishing performance and lower fire hazard risk.
This device adopts full closed-loop gas flow regulation paired with touch intelligent control, eliminating tedious manual valve adjustment in traditional test equipment. Standard Complete Test Operation Workflow

  1. Equipment Pre-Inspection & Gas Connection
    Connect qualified oxygen and nitrogen gas cylinders to the equipment inlet, adjust cylinder pressure to 0.25~0.5MPa; power on touch control panel and check circuit overload protection function status.
  2. Target LOI Parameter Setting
    Input the pre-estimated oxygen concentration value on the touch screen, start automatic gas mixing program, wait for buzzer stable prompt before proceeding with specimen loading.
  3. Specimen Vertical Clamping
    Cut raw material into standard test strips, fix the sample vertically on the central fixture of combustion tube, ensure the specimen is centered without deflection.
  4. Ignition & Combustion Observation
    Use standard ignition source to contact the top of the specimen, record continuous combustion duration and flame spread length; if concentration drifts, the system automatically adjusts gas flow without manual intervention.
  5. LOI Critical Value Determination
    Gradually adjust oxygen concentration up and down following standard staircase test method, record the minimum oxygen percentage that can sustain continuous combustion to get final limiting oxygen index result.
  6. Post-Test Shutdown & Tube Cleaning
    Cut off gas supply first, power down the control system after the combustion tube fully cools, wipe soot residues on the inner glass wall for next batch testing.
