RT-701B Plastic Melt Flow Rate Index Tester

 

RT-701B Melt Flow Rate Tester for Plastic is used to determine the melt flow rate of thermoplastics (MFR+MVR; units: g/10min) instrument.
For polyethylene, polypropylene, polyoxy methylene, ABS resin, polycarbonate, nylon, plastics and other polymers fluoride melt flow rate at high temperature determination.

Product Introduction

The KR-701B touchscreen melt flow tester is a precision extrusion plastometer built for analyzing melt flow characteristics of all thermoplastic resins. Under standardized temperature and dead-weight loading, it automatically calculates melt mass flow rate (MFR, g/10min) and melt volume flow rate (MVR, cm³/10min), core indicators that reflect polymer fluidity, molecular weight distribution and processing suitability.
This fully touch-operated testing unit complies with ISO 1133, ASTM D1238 and GB/T 3682 global testing standards. Equipped with high-range temperature control and complete standard weight sets, it handles low-melting polyolefin materials as well as high-temperature resistant fluoroplastics and engineering polymers. Widely deployed in petrochemical raw material factories, injection molding plants, masterbatch manufacturers and third-party polymer certification labs for incoming material inspection and formulation R&D screening.

    Supports eight grades of standard test loads ranging from 0.325kg to 21.6kg, covering all mainstream plastic test conditions. All counterweights are precision-machined stainless steel with tolerance controlled within ±0.5%, eliminating load deviation that distorts flow rate test results.

Standard Complete Test Operation Process

  1. Equipment Preheating & Temperature Stabilization
    Power on the plastometer, set target testing temperature on touchscreen and wait for full temperature stabilization. Clean the barrel inner wall and die channel thoroughly with the matching cleaning rod to remove residual plastic from previous batches.
  2. Sample Loading & Pre-Heating
    Load dried granular plastic specimen into the test barrel, insert the piston and place the corresponding standard weight stack on the piston top. Start the preheating timer to hold the sample for the specified dwell time per material standard.
  3. Test Parameter Setup
    Select automatic or manual cutting mode, set extrudate cutting interval time, and activate real-time data recording function on the touch interface.
  4. Melt Extrusion & Sample Collection
    Molten plastic flows steadily through the standard die under dead-weight pressure. Collect extruded strands by timed automatic cutting or manual operation, gather cut samples for weighing or volume calculation.
  5. Automatic Flow Rate Calculation
    The host computes MFR and MVR values instantly after sample weight input, stores all test records and triggers the built-in printer to generate formal inspection reports.
  6. Post-Test Cleaning & Storage
    Remove residual molten plastic while the barrel remains warm, fully clean the piston, barrel and die with dedicated tools; cut off power supply and cover the machine with a dust shield after cooling down completely.
