The KR-745 dynamic shear rheometer is a professional viscoelastic testing instrument developed for highway asphalt binder performance grading (PG classification). It simulates real pavement shear stress under variable temperatures, precisely measuring complex shear modulus (G*) and phase angle (δ) of base asphalt, modified asphalt and aged asphalt specimens to evaluate rutting resistance and anti-fatigue cracking capacity of road binders.
This full-system DSR testing unit consists of main rheology host, high-precision constant temperature circulation bath, standard parallel plate fixtures and dedicated analysis software. It fully complies with domestic JTG E20 T0628 and international AASHTO T315, ASTM P246 standards, supporting oscillatory shear, strain scanning and multi-stress creep recovery (MSCR) test modes. Standard Complete Test Operation Flow

  1. Equipment Preheating & Calibration
    Power on rheometer host and constant temperature bath, preheat to target test temperature for 30 minutes; run system zero calibration for torque and angle sensors to eliminate baseline drift.
  2. Asphalt Specimen Preparation
    Heat asphalt binder to uniform fluid state, evenly coat standard measuring plate, control film thickness to standard gap dimension, mount the upper plate and trim excess overflow asphalt around the edge.
  3. Test Program Configuration
    Connect host to laptop, select corresponding test standard (PG grading / MSCR creep / frequency sweep), set temperature, oscillation frequency and loading parameters, save test scheme.
  4. Automatic Oscillation Shear Testing
    Start the program; the upper measuring plate generates standard sinusoidal shear oscillation on asphalt sample. The system continuously collects torque and angle response signals in real time.
  5. Rheology Index Calculation & Recording
