Standard Test Operation Steps
- Horizontal Calibration: Place the tester on a flat rigid table, adjust four bottom knobs until the bubble level sits at center position.
- Specimen Preparation: Cut samples to standard 12.5mm thickness and condition them under standard temperature & humidity environment as required by ASTM D2632.
- Sample Positioning: Put the test piece on the base platform, align the plunger impact point 14mm away from any edge of the specimen.
- Pre-impact Stabilization: Lift the plunger to the 400mm fixed position and release freely; repeat impact three times to stabilize the rubber surface, discard these three groups of data.
- Formal Data Recording: Perform impact for 3 more consecutive times, record rebound height reading for the 4th, 5th and 6th bounce, then calculate average value as final resilience index.
- Test Completion: Remove specimen, wipe guide rod and base to store the instrument.
